Hi Chris,Yes old ... really old oil could cause the buzzer to turn on but my guess is an electrical problem.I just diagnosed and repaired the wire that goes to the rear high-pressure switch on my 2.1L. The wire was cut in several places and touching the engine, causing a short. When this switch shorts out the buzzer and blinking light goes on. Check out the wiring on this switch between the Water pump pulley and the crank pulley. Good Luck,Joel89 Syncro Westy
