Subject: Oil Drain Plug, 1.9 vs. 2.1 ??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi:

From looking at the archives, and various vendor sites, I have concluded that pre '86 waterboxer vanagons take the same oil drain plug as the '86 up ones. Can someone confirm?

I ask because Canadian Tire sells a FRAM "Suredrain Fast Access Oil Change System" one of those drain plugs with a valve. Their site, and the listings in the store state that the "SD-2" model fits a 1984 Vanagon. From this I would like to assume that it would also fit a 1986 ???

Thanks Tom
