In a recent news release it is disclosed that the Law Firm of Ben Dover & C. Howit Fields has initiated a class action law suit against VW of America. The suit implies that VW Vans, Vanagons, Busses, Syncro, Bugs are addictive in nature. The suit sites examples of VW Van owners sleeping and actually living like homeless people in these vans. Those specifically mentioned are the Westfalia, Joker and a few other conversion models. It has been discovered that a Mr Larry Chase has abandoned his residence and is living from a Westfalia Van somewhere in the Rocky Mountains at this time. Mr Chase has not been located for his comments on his strange addictive behavior. In a written response to the charges of VW addiction, Volkswagen of America Attorneys files this brief statement before the 13th Judicial Federal Court in NY City. " Volkswagen has achieved a certain popularity among the young people in America back in the early 60s because we had affordable vehicles with high density seating. These vehicles remain on the road because the owners both young and old, hold a respect for the vehicles. Any possibility of addiction is totally ridiculous and We at VWOA will, in an effort to disprove this claim; Offer to any VW driver of a six year old or older VW car, van, truck or other VW product a year by year replacement with any Asian built vehicle of the same year model and approximate new car cost of the VW product. The participation in this opportunity will disprove any possibility of VW addiction and the VW vehicles we take in as trade will be crushed. This measure should in effect squash any future claims of VW addiction." "Those persons choosing to retain ownership of their older vans, cars, busses will be offered a one time cash payment of an amount equal to ten times the amount paid for last repair and or labor and parts bill from an authorized VW repair facility." "To qualify for the cash buy out the VW vehicle must be currently registered, inspected and insured vehicle that will travel to the local turn in facility under its own power." "In the very near impossible event that someone is exhibiting addictive behavior towards a VW product, Dihatsu motor works of China has agreed to provide full time rehabilitative employment in one of its six automobile plants in Beijing China". Mr. C. Howit Fields replied briefly with this comment: "Mr. Wagon, you can't export this addiction to China, they won't be able to control it without incarceration of those showing the addictive symptom."
