Hi Mike, 1. your oil pump should be a type 4 however I am not the definitive voice on this. It is a "good measure" to replace the oil pump seen as how the all air-cooled engines rely so heavily on oil cooling.

2. Go to a salvage yard and find a replacement for this plastic piece. Repairing these older plastic pieces is difficult.

3. I had the same problem with my 81, took me forever to find the replacement metal tin. All I can say is "good luck" , be persistent.
