There is a good camping spot at El Faro Beach in Encinada ($6 a night) and There is a local hotel just about 8 blocks inland away from town on one of the main streets (16 de Septembre street I think or maybe 5 de Mayo street) with showers and a large double bed for only about $4 a night. They want about $60 to $80 in town. Just a few blocks past the gas station and a right turn on one of streets (the 3rd past the gas station I think). I wish I could remember specific directions. Just ask around. Nothing like a good shower and a king sized bed after a long trip. If you are going to go that far go to Cabo San Lucas but stay in a campground at San Jose Del Cabo a few miles East where the town is quaint and really almost untouched by Cabo nonsense. The campground is just past "Trader Dick's" store and you can camp right on the beach. The town is just a few miles from there and worth the trip in itself. They even have vegetarian places to eat and a great Pizza place (Pizza fiesta) and try the Iguana Bar & Grille right in the center of town. It would be a shame to go all the way to La Paz and not visit Cabo San Lucas (ruined by Americans) and stay at San Jose Del Cabo a truely untouched town. Happy trails.
