Quick and easy way of removing it - fill the pilot bearing hole FULL of grease... then get a bolt that will JUST fit inside of the pilot bearing (M14??) then take a hammer and give the bolt a good, hard smack and pop - out comes the pilot bearing! Listies, I'm having a bit of trouble removing the old pilot bearing. The FLAPS sold me this self tapping hydraulic thing that you use with a grease gun but it hasn't quite done what it's supposed to so I'm looking for alternative methods. Since this is my first clutch job on a Vanagon I'm not up to speed on the various techniques. Any input will be greatly appreciated.............................
