Subject:   Pulled the Transmission................
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hey, I pulled my transmission yesterday due to a slipping clutch. And the clutch disc was definitely worn out as evidenced by the grooves cut into the pressure plate by the rivets. No problem there but....................as we were dropping the tranny away from the engine, attempting to balance it on the floor jack. I ran off to get a tarp to lay it on, my assistant couldn't keep the pig balanced on the jack and it dropped maybe 6 inches to the ground. Again no real problem but I later discovered a large washer that slips right over the splined shaft coming out the front of the transmission. Since the throw out bearing wasn't removed yet as I correct in assuming that it goes there? It would go between the springy forks on the pressure plate and the throw out bearing. Any input would be greatly appreciated....................also anything else I should be aware of/do while I've got it out? Thanx,
