Subject: Bogging leaving the line...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi,

A new-to-me vanagon runs great at higher RPM, and perfect when cold, but bogs down leaving the line once the engine warms up.

The o2 sensor and cat was replaced by the previous owner to solve the problem, but the new parts made no difference. His solution was to disconnect the o2 sensor, and it does run great (although thirsty) like that.

Anyone have any ideas on this.

I have another computer in the basement that I might try out, just 'cause its easy.

Is there a way to test the wires to the O2 sensor? I'm assuming the o2 sensor itself is ok. With the o2 sensor disconnected, does the computer ignore some other sensors? If so that would explain why the engine runs fine without the o2.

Thanks for any info, ...Markus
