Hi All,

OK, here is some more info to add into the mix.

The dipstick is approx. 54.7 CM long as measured from the bottom of the rubber "stopper". I *did* check it with the van level, but Stan gave me an idea - I also pull the strainer when I change to oil - is that taken into account for VW's 3.7 quart capacity? If not, that may be it. ...JMM
