Subject: Clutch pedal engagement
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello,

I have an '85 Westy. I've recently got it running, and driving.

Where should the clutch pedal engage?

I'd like to think it should start to grab about half way through it's travel. Mine grabs very near the top of it's travel. The Bently manual doesn't refer to any adjustments.

I did find a mention of a linkage near the master cylinder in the archives:

> Sounds like you have a linkage problem to me - same problem I had > fixed by adjusting the master cylinder "pushrod." It is a pain to get > to but, if you've got your system bled correctly, I'll bet you can fix it > with this adjustment. My guess is you have a big egg shaped hole in > the linkage to your pedal which attaches to the yoke which pushes the > plunger down into the master cylinder.

Should I do anything, or just drive it?

Thanks, Dan Brideau
