I don't mean to re-open a can of worms, but what's currently the best tire
chain to go to for Vanagon tires?  I have most of the common U.S. ones in
my area.  My tires all have good tread, but I just noticed that the right
rear is only load range B.  The left rear is load range D, as are the two
front tires.  My idea is to put two new tires of the proper load range on
the rear, and have the left rear mounted as my spare, since my current
spare is completely bald and is showing signs of dry rot.
