For the first time in 11 yrs of driving I ran out of gas last week. It wasn't that bad-I called work and had them swing me over a gallon.

What does concern me tho is the gauge-it was reading above the empty mark but below 1/4. It was stuck in that same spot for like 20 miles.

Anyone run into this and have a good solution. New sending unit needed?

This is my 7th VW over 20 years old and all of the others had perfectly working fuel gauges....what gives?

Paul
