Well, define risky. It's flammable. Should you have an engine fire, there's a chance Freeze 12 might help fuel it briefly. On the other hand, R134a breaks down into *very* toxic components when heated, so I question whether it's really any safer.

This is true. Not so much because of the flammability as because it'll contaminate an R12 recovery machine.
