Subject: Sears floor jack on sale/fits in bus
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I just bought a 2 1/4 ton Craftsman floorjack at Sears sale priced from $39.99 to $29.99. They would have taken an extra $10 off if I applied and was approved for a Sears credit card. (knowing that credit cards are the devil's tool I declined the offer to apply for the card)

It is one of the smaller format floor jacks at about 21 inches in length with the handle removed. It's lift range is about 4 1/2 inches to 14 1/2.

The Vanagon tie in is the jack fits in the compartment under the Westfalia rear seat on the passenger side of the bus--just fits. I've carried my old sears 1 1/2 ton floorjack there and used it on many occassions since I got my bus. I keep a length of 4x4 wood post under there as well to add to the lift--using it horizontal to the ground of course. The old sears jack lasted about 25 years until a seal recently began to leak, so it was time for replacement.

If using the 4x4 post for added lift use extreme caution and never get under a vehicle without properly installing jack stands.

The sears 2 1/4 ton jack also comes with a nice sturdy plastic case. But the case does not easily fit under the rear westfalia seat--it's a tad too long at about 22 1/2 inches.

I'm in SoCal, and while I'm not sure if the sale is nationwide, I've usually found Sears sales to be nationwide.

Just a tip. I have no affiliation with Sears and normal disclaimers apply.
