Taking a Chinese floor jack to its limit and then some is not a good thing
especially considering their minimal footprint.  In the rear, the flat part
of the trailing arm directly under the halfshaft is ideal for jacking a
Vanagon.  At the front, placing the jack under the control arm as close as
possible to the wheel works very well.  Jacking at either location keeps the
lift to the desired minimum.  Not only does it take far less to get the wheel
off the ground, but the jack does not roll nearly as much in its effort to
stay under the jack's cup.
