What works well is to get a used truck tire tube, and cut it to the correct shape.

That will work fine - and you can make several of them and go into the replacement fridge-flue gasket business!

FWIW, I made several hundred dollars selling cupholders- for a while I was the "Undisputed World Cupholder King".

(Mine were not homemade, though)
