Greetings Listmembers! We just wanted to send a big Thank You to all that have helped our TiiCo swap be a success. We drove it today for the first time, and at break-in speed, she has twice as much power and torque than the old one! No rattles, no vibration, no intake noise. Just the smell of the gunky stuff from shipping burning off of her! It does seem like the idea of a jetta thermostat switch for the fan would be good, cuz it does seem to run a bit warmer than the old engine, and we like to see that peg right in the middle of the gauge. It was very interesting how our bus fell apart in our driveway. We had just finished a 3k mile trip from Phoenix to the Oregon Coast, and we ended up needing to replace the starter and the coil, as they went dead while just sitting in the driveway. Amazing. We now have a 2.1 Waterboxer with all the electronics and fuel injection (we used VanAgain's jetta system) available for sale. If there is anybody around the mid oregon coast that may want it all... it would save us the parting out on ebay, and you can get it all in one piece. The engine was tired, but no coolant leaks. Not sure of mileage, as it was swapped by PO. Crankshaft endplay was a bit much from what the VW Dealer said... But, she did run on down the road when we pulled her. A rebuild would surely be in order. Interested? Write for more details. Thanks again List... all the great information made our install go really well.
