I've never heard of or read about plastic washers associated with the oil cooler, and certainly have never seen them in any engine I've torn down. What manual are you talking about?? -------------------- Clip ----------------------- Here is one for you. Is there supposed to be a crushed O ring between the crank shaft end and the fan hub on 80-83 CV Series Air Cooled engines? I find them often in engines but have never installed one even though most gaskets kits come with what looks to be the same size O ring. I've always accepted this O ring as an extra part for some obscure VW Type IV application.
