I just fixed mine with the same problem a few weeks ago. It was a broken wire in the driver side door boot. I sliced it open with a razor to access the wires and found the broken one. Fortunately for me the broken wire was right on top. I spliced it and taped up the boot with electical tape after cleaning the rubber very well with paint thinner. Works now like new.
