Like Stan and a couple of others said, when this happened to me, I drilled off the end of the bolt with a GOOD drill bit that was a little larger than the bolt (I compared it to one that was out.). That will allow the removal of the cv, and then the remaining bold came out by hand. Simple... just not easy. It took about an hour to drill it out using a BIG drill motor. I was lying in mud in December. It was snowing. It was dark and late. Wolves were circling, and the howling was getting closer. Yep, I LOVE working on the CV joints.

Now I use the Matt Bulley method. 12 point bolts only. Clean them REALLY well before I start trying to remove them. Put the 12 point tool into the head, and tap it gently 100 times before trying to remove the bolt. It will come right out. It also works if you have allen bolts, but if you do, replace them with 12 point bolts once you have them off. Once you round them out, it's time for the drill.

Let me re-phrase, this is the "proverbial" last > bolt!! The bolt is now somewhere between 1/4 and 6.5mm in size and closer > to sending me to the nut house! Any tricks short of C-4??
