Subject: 87 EXTREMELY Rich at start-up
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Hi,

My 87 is back to one of its nasty behaviors. At start up, for the first 2 or 3 minutes, it is running so rich that it belches black smoke, floods out (idle goes from 900 to 100 then 0), actually spits out raw gasoline. Once it has been driven for a few minutes, all is well....until it sits for a couple of hours and is re-started and the problem pops up again.

I have replaced the blue, three pronged temp sensor. The ISV is functioning perfectly. What can be the problem??

Ric
