What 3 prong sensor? The temp 2 sensor is a 2 pin. In addition to the sensor, the connectors go bad, making poor contact. And of course check those grounds and use an ohm meter and test out the harness.

Hi,

My 87 is back to one of its nasty behaviors. At start up, for the first 2 or 3 minutes, it is running so rich that it belches black smoke, floods out (idle goes from 900 to 100 then 0), actually spits out raw gasoline. Once it has been driven for a few minutes, all is well....until it sits for a couple of hours and is re-started and the problem pops up again.

I have replaced the blue, three pronged temp sensor. The ISV is functioning perfectly. What can be the problem??

Ric
