If you drove the Alaska North Slope Haul Road (which is open to travel in summer by the way) north of Fairbanks, AK, having an air cooled engine would definitely ba an advantage. Not chance to breakdown with water pump failure in the middle of nowhere ..... and it is truely the middle of nowhere.on that road.
