I've got a question for you. Vehicle 85 1.9 Wasser boxer. Symptom: Tight Valve? Symptom Tight Rocker Arm? When adjusting the valves #1 exhaust valve was very tight. I backed off on the adjusting screw and I had to hit the rocker arm with a hammer to get the opening between the stem and rocker to close. All other rockers were normal and adjusted properly. I did get this valve adjusted properly. The valve stem appeared to be in the right position for a closed valve. I noticed that the opposite side valve cover was lubricating well but this side appeared very dry. The person owning this van is on the list and at the time I had the van for other preventive maintenance I chose not to mention "A" potential problem. I feel that something has to give soon and this engine will have a valve failure of some type but I don't want to wave red flags if it isn't necessary. I'm not a Wasser Boxer guy and this problem was beyond my diagnosis skills as an Air Cooled guy. --------------------------------------- I've got my shop set up now and can start performing some Ceramics Coatings Applications. If you've still the need for Ceramic Application, drop me a note.
