I haven't done this myself, but some have said the wiper can be
re-positioned in relation  to the track so there is a new unworn path.
YOu might consider it. Also, I have on other electrical parts used a
pencil eraser to clean wiper trackers. There is enough abrasive in the
eraser to clean the surface. What I used was an eraser used in an
electric eraser tool of the type that used to be used by draftsmen.
