I believe that covers are a good idea. I get mine from Canadian Tire, just generic type. Re putting them on and off, I fold the cover up on top of the van and then roll it up as I take it off. That way I can sort of "through" it back on and it unrolls itself over the westy. My style has two under the van ties and that seems to keep the cover on OK except in high winds.
