The is a big rubber plug in the center behind the lower heater duct. VW makes holes in it as needed for line, hoses, etc. It is about 3 x 4 inches. Plenty of room to push some wires through. On a diesel you need to remove the small knee protector pad around the cold start knob first. I usually run wires along the heater hoses as these come up in this same area. Run one #8 red wire to a 4 fuse panel and you will have room to grow. Use 2 of the fuses for headlight relays and you will see much better at night.
