I have had Farmers insure my Westy as an RV in the past. American Express does so for me now. Good Sam is also an excellent source. Whether your Westy is "officially" an RV according to the government is a moot point. All that matters is whether the insurance company believes you use it only that way. If they do, they can rate it as an RV, and the insurance is MUCH less money. Remember, if you drive it to work and such, then you shouldn't get this rate. We use ours exclusively for camping. Bill in the Southwest ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tracey Estevez" <boatshop@INTERCOM.NET> I contacted my insurance company (State Farm) about covering my 85 Westy as an RV and the agent told me that they no longer offer RV insurance because of the "hassle" it became...or some such reason.I live in MD and use another car as a daily driver and a truck for a stuff-hauler. Does anyone know of another reputable Insurance company that offers this kind of policy. |
