Hi Doug, if you are interested, or anybody on the list, I have a middle 3 seater in teal and grey for sale. It's from my originally 8 passanger 91 vanagon. Sometimes, I think that I will use it and don't want to sell it. But I got to the conclusion that since I installed the carat interior, and this year I transplanted a pop-top, I will most probably never use it again. It would be a really nice couch at the camp site do! So I would like to see this rare option go to a good home. Make a reasonable offer and it's yours. I am from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. So shipping from forwardair would be expensive, I think the seat weights aroung 150 pounds :-( Pedro dos Santos 91 vanagon + carat int + pop-top transplant 85 ddcab project ----------------original message-------------- Date: Wed, 28 May 2003 12:16:35 -0700 From: Douglas L Urner <dlu@CANISHE.COM> Subject: Vanagon Middle Seats We're sadly thinking that our '83 Vanagon has reached the end of its useful life, and we're looking for a "new" one. Trouble is we really like the forward facing middle seats, but they're not so common in the later years. Does anybody know how hard it is to add them to a Carat or Wolfsburg with the rear facing middle seats? I know we'd block the table from opening, and that's OK. Also, I've seen two Vanagons with a three across middle seat. It looks like the passenger side seat hinges forward to allow access to the back seats. Was this an option? Any idea what years?
