I have the 009 distributor on my 1991 2.1 with the correct rotor and cap. What I can highly recommend is the Pertronix pointLESS ignition ( http://www.pertronix.com/ignition/ignitor/index.htm ). Be sure to specify the one for the 009. it is is VERY easy to install.

I have this set up and, in the past 4 years the van's dwell has NEVER changed off the 48 degrees!!!!! This unit will pay for itself in the short run by NEVER having to do that part of the tune up AND the engine will run better as the timing will not change as the points wear.

Re the timing problems and the 009, (the very respected) Bob McDonald (of Boston Engine) has a few words to say about that at: http://www.bostonengine.com/articles/009.html

And yes, My van also has a 2 barrel Weber carb, and the van runs fine, same fuel economy as other syncro westies. Malcolm
