If you do not want to read this, ignore me.

I know full well that this isn't the place for such things, but if I present this problem to the mooks I know, I'm going to get a bunch of blank looks. I want to use knife cut stencils for some short run silk screening on fabric using Naz-Dar water based inks. Because of the small number of prints, I'm too lazy for the clean up involved with lacquer film.

Previously, I've made stencils from drawing vellum and with solvent based inks it worked quite well. Before I tried the vellum with the water based ink I folded a piece into a cup shape and filled it with water. The cup held the water overnight with no sign of wrinkling. But, there must be some hellaciously good wetting agents in that ink because as soon as it touched the vellum the stencil became useless.

Can anyone tell me what I can use for a stencil with the water based ink?

George
