OK so a quick refresher on the earlier act

91 Vanagon Carat... Passanger side electric window goes down but not up hmmmmmm........ Switch on passanger side was a bit sticky so bought a replacement....no change Ordered an aftermarket motor and regulator from Ken @ vanagain.com (great guy, great service)...put it in...no change. Upon the reccomendation of listmember John McMahon...reversed the wires from the switch to the motor...window goes up but not down. Elementary my dear Watson...there is a short in the wires somewhere.

So cost of self diagnosis is Haynes Manual.......................................73$ New Switch.............................................69$ New Motor & Regulator............................150$ Knowing what the F@&K you are doing.....priceless

Now any ideas from you guys on where to begin looking for a short, someone mentioned the doors but I am having a heack of a time getting the rubber seal off the bundles of wires.,

One other thing....passanger window switch on drivers door was working partially before (down not up just like switch on passanger side) but now doesn't work at all. Maybe the short is around here????? But I can still use the switch in the passanger door, just only in one direction like before??????

TIA

So I guess there is a short somewhere in the wires.

Don't know where to even begin there.
