I have problems with the power windows on my old BMW sometimes. They are probably the same switches. I find if I spray Rid-ox or similar into the switch, through the cracks. small holes etc, everything works fine again. When the switches get old, the contacts drop the voltage making the switches get hot and the function slow or inoperative. Rid-ox can be hard to find but there are other contact cleaners out there. Rid-ox does the best job for me.
