Should be possible, though I'm curious how good the speed regulation will be. The diesel is a heavy vehicle for the amount of power it has, and needs large throttle changes to maintain speed. Also, the throttle response curve is very different than a gas engine's -- more linear.

It might work but I'm unsure how well. Vaccuum for the throttle servo shouldn't be a problem, though, as long as you have a good vaccuum pump.
