Is there a source for these covers ---- I had all three of mine vandalized and I'd love to get just the covers and not the horrendously expensive whole units.

I dunno how to fix it, but I can tell you that if you don't do something eventually the hinge pins will fail and the cover will blow off. Happened to two of mine.
