Buy an air compressor with a spray gun kit from Lowes, Home Depot or Ace Hardware.($299.00) Buy a quart of white lacquer primer and some Scotch Brite sanding pads. ($20.00) Use regular laquer thinner with it ($7.95 per gallon) Buy a quart of your selected color from a Automotive Paint Supplier ($18.00) Mask off the top away from the body after removing the seal (Tape $2.99, free newspapers) Paint the top yourself. Use the rest of that $500.00 for something you need. Use that left over $150.00 to take your Wife to a very nice resturant ........... she'll just love the paint job you did.

Believe I've heard of Westy owners doing a pretty good job with a small roller. Any experience with this on the list? What type of paint works best for this surface? What type of preparation is required to the fiberglass surface, before painting? Is this one of those jobs? where its worth the dollars to let a pro do it? Thanks!!
