The 10w-30 is really too thin for extended highway operation. 20w-50 is preferred for normal oil. Some synthetics are not available in that viscosity; 15w-50 is the choice.

I have a 91 Vanagon and have always used 10w 30 Mobil oil.. I have read that people are using 20w 50? What should I use?
