 Get a short shifter and extension from Gene Berg and you will wonder WHY did
VW NOT DO THIS!!!

It makes shifting much easier and pleasant because you do not have to lean
over to get it into third (fourth if you have a five speed).  It does not make
me want to shift any faster though... Transmissions are expensive...

It was easy to install.
