Here's how you do it.

First you need a towing A-frame. Not a real rigid A but two arms, one pivoted on the other just behind the hitch; at the ends of the legs are eyes for fat bolts. If the arms are long enough you can adjust them to tow ANYTHING.

The mounts are made of threaded rod or long bolts (image courtesy of listee EMZ); they just run through the bumper (remove the steel or fiberglass cover first!) through the stamped holes already there, and should be long enough to protrude on the back side of the apron... fit BIG washers here to spread the load.

This is how I towed mine at up to 70mph behind my 1.8 diesel FWD Corolla wagon, with no stability problems.

I can send images of the setup I used; my mounts are similar to EMZ's. No need to drill holes in your van. -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin, New Zealand 64 (3) 473-8863 <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh & VW/Toyota van nut
