I had pretty much the same experience... except my awning arrived with only one plastic corner chipped. dealer send me a new corner, so no problem. but the awning is, as you said subject to breakage at the nylon/plastic joints, the feet are fragile, and it requires two people to set up... unless you want to risk tweaking a joint and having another repair problem on your hands. If I had it to do over, I would never buy a fiamma awning. great design, but lousy workmanship.

btw, my top rail that attached to the lip of the awning case will not extend all the way to click together and lock. can't seem to figure out how to extent it far enough. have any of you had that problem?
