I was wondering if there was a lower limit to connecting rod side clearance. Wear limit is .7mm, and i guaged up: .279mm (.011") .279mm .229mm (.009") .254mm (.010") I wasn't sure if too tight of tolerances would mean too high of oil pressure, or something? I also have written down in my little tolerances and torques summary notebook that i started that side clearance should be about .381mm (.015"), but i can't seem to find that reference now to verify it. Also, what is the best way to plastigage the rods so they don't swivel when compressing the stuff? Anyway, thanks for the help. I would have checked the archives except i've been on jury duty the past few days and havn't had my usual work access... (what a sad gestapo list world we live in when i have to cower in fear for not checking archives first ;-) -Damon ===== '84 Westy (Sparky) '65 Kharma Ghia (Dharma) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
