Well this topic is too much fun to pass up.

Next weekend I will be celebrating my ten year "Vaniversary." Ten years ago I bought my 85 Westfalia to take on a trip to the Yukon and Alaska. I was 22. Trip of a lifetime.

To celebrate, a few friends and I will be gathering at the local Drive-In, putting up the top and piling in. Jiffy Pop on a propane stove is my specialty. In fact, it somehow became my nickname.

As for that Westfalia smell, i first came to love it in my Dad's 79. My 73 VW Safari camper had a slightly different smell (burning motor mostly). Every time I get in my van I have this Pavlovian response (or whatever) that makes me think of trips gone by.

Kind of like Stan's bacon but better for my arteries.

Jeff

>I burned some popcorn in mine once. (Jiffy Pop is hard to cook on a hot propane stove. ;) ) The smell lingered for a day or so, then the usual Westy odor reasserted itself. I think all of you that have Westfalias know the one I mean.
