I am in the middle of converting my wasserboxer to a VW 1.8 I4. I have all the bits to do it and am about to install the trans with the diesel bellhousing. The bell housing has 2 alignment drilled dowels were the starter bolts pass through to thread into block. The problem is the block is not counterbored for these dowels. Can I grind them flush? There are two other dowels in the block that will fit in the trans for alignment.

John
