Vanagons are pretty rare in Florida but there doesn't seem to be much of a demand for them. $8k is a decent price for one, but its tough to find a buyer down here for any vehicle without operational A/C. That factor alone will take $1000-$2000 off the price. Non-functioning A/C it turns into a seasonal (Nov-Feb), or a hobby vehicle and unuseable the rest of the year as basic transporation. A camper can only be used seasonally unless you have a stand-alone A/C unit for camping.

On the positive side, they typically won't have any rust and the drivetrain and brakes lead a pretty easy life since they don't have to deal with hills very often.

And no matter what color the pop-top originally was, eventually it will return to the proper poptop color, white (at least in spots).:>)
