Hi,

They tested the coolant system pressure??

I was also told that some sort of a chemical "block" tester which screws in place of the radiator/ coolant tank cap will show if there's exhaust in the system.

I am over and over being confronted with combustion gases blowing into the coolant. Could it be that there's no cure for that???

Your symptoms sound exactly like that is what's happening. You might still be lucky and be able to drive it for quite some time, with the needle jumping and the LED flashing once in a blue moon, for a short time, without overheating.

I drove roundtrip from L.A. to Seattle once (approx 2500 miles) right after the needle jumped like that.

cheers
