A small 12 volt bulb began shamelessly flickering above my head after someone said they were looking for nifty gadgets for their vanagon road trip. I assume they don't have a westfalia kitchen. A couple years ago I was at a sale at an appliance factory that builds Nesco roasters. In a sale frenzy I picked up some small 12 volt "out doors type cookers". The boxes say use them camping/ tailgating/ boating etc. I have used one of the broilers at work in my truck. It is pleasant to warm up a sandwich if you've been working outside when it's 20 below 0 Fahrenheit. I have also used a 12 volt drip coffee maker during trips; when the kids are sleeping we don't stop for coffee and risk waking the little darlings. It's slow but works well in the vanagon. I checked what's in my basement, made by "Nesco" under the trade name Empire: 4 port-a-fry(mini fry pan w/lid). 2 port-a-broil( tiny toaster oven). 1 port-a-toaster(yes, a rudimentary 2 slice toaster) So, there you go. You can cook with your cigar lighter socket. I would be happy to pack and sell one or all. $14 each. all for $60. new in boxes w/ instructions ( I think JC Whitney sells the port-a-fry for $20 plus shipping).
