I agree with David. On my 91 2.1 L syncro westy, I also have the 009 distributor and I just replaced my Solex carb with a Weber DFEV and both carbs have the "vacuum nipple" on the carb. The vacuum pipe coming out of the intake manifold I use for the brake vacuum.
FWIW Paul, I have not noticed any hesitation after slowing down. As I understand it, the issue with the 009 dist. is one of TOTAL advance that the 009 is capable of. Boston Bob has an article on this. See http://www.bostonengine.com/articles/009.html Malcolm
