Hello all, I've been at nomail for a while due to business travel. Came back after a month or so of not starting the vanagon ('88 GL Westy Automatic). Starts right up, runs for a couple of seconds or so, some times a couple of minutes or so, then dies (immediately). If I rev it up it may or may not miss around 3000 rpms. Every time it dies, it is immediate without warning, letting me believe it is an electrical problem and not a fuel problem (clogged filter, water in fuel). I haven't tried to drive since my driveway and the avenue I live on are both steep hills. Is this the dreaded Vanagon syndrome? Regards, Mike Pedersen Powell River, BC |
