Subject: The tale of riding the bus home
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Two weeks ago I sold my 66 Split window bus to a fellow in California.
I requested a deposit which he sent quickly.
I advised him that I had already put one fellow on an airplane back to
his home town that stood in my drive way and reneged on the agreed price.
This fellow got here, I picked him up at the airport, brought him to the
bus.
He tinkered and poked on the bus for three hours and drove the bus.
He itemized each item on the bus that was a flaw.
The exact same items that I list on the For Sale web page.
He tried to best me by naming a flaw that I had overlooked but I had made
a full disclosure and had hidden nothing from him in my Public Disclosure
at my web site.
I'm not a fellow that is financially desperate, the bus parking spot is
free to me and I'm just not going to be squeezed when I'm on my home
turf.
After looking at a thousand dollars worth of receipts for parts I put on
the bus he was kind enough to offer me a thousand dollars for the bus.
Well the subject line tells it all but he's out $400.00 for airfare and
in for a three day ride back to SF area on a bus. The good news is that
with the deposit I returned to him he had just about enough to recover
his plane fare
