I just wanted to say "thanks" to everybody who responded so quickly to my growling reverse gear question. I'm really not sure why my mechanic just freaked... even if he was looking for $$ it's not like his shop is empty and he's looking for work. On a different note: i just had my windshield replaced by "Triumph Auto Glass" in Minneapolis MN. Sort of a brutal process to watch, but it took all of 15 minutes. My rubber gasket was in good shape so he reused it. While he was threading it on the new glass I scraped all the gunk out of the channel and coated the rusty spots with POR that he had in his van. I would have liked to take a wirebrush to those rust spots, but he was on a schedule. This is the first time i've ever driven a vehicle with a <10 year old windshield... it's like there's some kind of invisible forcefield out there. -jspeer '89 Westy GL, "Mystery Machine" |
